“At Least One Scholar per Farming Family.”
These are not just words etched into policy, but a promise that echoes across the golden fields of Isabela. This powerful commitment fuels Bojie-Rodito Opportunities for Education (BRO-Ed), the flagship Provincial Scholarship Program of the Provincial Government of Isabela, built on the dream that no child of a farmer should ever be denied the chance to learn, to grow, and to succeed.
Structured with compassion and foresight, the program features three vital components. The Academic Scholarship Program honors Senior High School graduates who finish with distinction, providing Php 5,000.00 for those With Highest Honors, Php 4,000.00 for With High Honors, and Php 3,000.00 for With Honors. Recognizing that potential is not always measured by medals, the Non-Academic Scholarship Program offers Php 3,000.00 in book and lodging allowance per semester to those who graduate without honors but carry the fire to pursue higher education.
Yet the vision does not stop at college. With the Expanded Scholarship Program, the province opens doors to post-graduate dreams—for those taking up master’s, doctoral, or professional degrees in Law, Medicine, and Theology. Scholars in master’s programs receive Php 5,000.00 per semester, while those in doctorate and professional studies receive Php 10,000.00.
Backed by landmark legislation—Ordinance No. 07, s. 2018 and Ordinance No. 2020-04-1, s. 2020—the scholarship program has evolved to meet the shifting needs of Isabeleño youth under the K to 12 curriculum. These ordinances breathe life into a system that recognizes excellence, nurtures ambition, and adapts to the ever-expanding landscape of education.
Since its launch in 2010, BRO for Education has grown from supporting an average of 15,000 scholars per semester to approximately 30,000 starting in 2021. This remarkable growth demonstrates the Provincial Government of Isabela’s steadfast dedication to investing in its youth, strengthening its agricultural communities, and building a future where no farming family is left behind in the pursuit of education.
BRO for Education was born out of a deep understanding of sacrifice. It honors the unyielding hope of farming families who, despite modest means, dare to dream of a better life through education. The program ensures that every qualified household tilling the land has the opportunity to send at least one child to college—transforming futures, breaking cycles of poverty, and planting seeds of lasting change.
